Social Studies: Final copy for all six paragraphs for Journal 1. This represents two weeks of in-class and at-home journal writing. Students who have completed Journal 1 by tomorrow's deadline will begin their special Mother's Day gifts in class. Students who do not finish their Journal 1 by tomorrow's deadline will need to work on their gift at home.

Reading: Students with reading folders need to read orally for 15 minutes and get a parent signature. If I wrote "Sarah, Plain and Tall Ch. 1 and 2" on your folder, you did not pass the first test. You will be re-reading the book and taking another test in a week. There is no spelling this week due to swimming.

Spelling: Spelling Sentences for this week's words. The words are from the story, "Skylark" in Theme 6, and are available on the fourth grade site.
We are completing the third paragraph for Journal 1 in class tomorrow. Students who did not complete paragraph 1 with a parent edit/signature this week will be using recess time to catch up.
Students need to continue to write down all assignments on their blue assignment sheets even though parent signatures are no longer required.

Thursday Homework
Room 13 Reading Students: If you have a reading folder please get a parent signature as always. All Room 13 reading students need to read Chapters 8 and 9 and be prepared for a test tomorrow on those chapters. We will be testing on the entire book on Tuesday of next week. Students need to prepare for that test by reading the entire book again.

Other: Friday is no school for students. Monday, 4/11, is the last day parents will be asked to sign blue assignment sheets. After Monday, information for parents will only be found on this website. You will need to check your student's homeroom teacher's blog, as well as your student's math and reading teacher's blogs for daily homework. Your student will still be writing their assignments on an assignment sheet.
Swimming for fourth graders begins April 25 and continues through May 6, 2011. Room 13 students should have brought home an information sheet today.
